My interest in animals has been long lived since before I remember. At the age of five I was begging my parents for a puppy. At age seven I began asking for my "own" pets. Shortly thereafter, our family took in a labrador puppy named Cindy and several years later I became the proud owner of a gerbil pair. Those two gerbils, Louie and Hewie, can be thanked for addicting me to gerbils as well as many other small pets. Since the age of eight I owned gerbils, first and foremost as pets, second, breeding for hobby to promote quality and new colored gerbils within the Alaska area. I grew up in a smaller town in Alaska surrounded by mountain ranges, lakes, and rivers. I've always been passionate about the things I enjoy the most and I am sad to say that I no longer own gerbils. As well as rodents, I have other interests such as baking, art, and photography, as can be seen by all the photographs on my site, taken by me. Currently I am attending undergraduate school at an out of state university and time does not permit me to take up caring for all my rodents anymore. The majority of my rodent breeders went on to others who hoped to carry on my lineage and others were retired into pet homes where they are been well taken care of. Without my rodents, and attending university, this means I am on my way to hopefully becoming a small animal exotics veterinarian and can probably thank my strong interest in rescuing and raising rodents, as well as my very understanding family and friends. :) As always, feel free to contact me. Thank you again. Sincerely, Kim Midnight Sun Rodentry |
